On April 20, 2018 the Greater Boston Armenian community commemorated the 103rd anniversary of the 1915-1923 Genocide in the Chamber of the Massachusetts State House of Representatives.  This local event began in the 1980’s and has been supported by the Knights of Vartan Ararat Lodge #1 every year since its inception by taking an active role on the committee and especially providing financial and logistics support for free round-trip buses for the local community including school children.

CHRISTMAS 2012 / NEW YEAR’S 2013 MESSAGE from the AVAK TIVAN

CHRISTMAS 2012 / NEW YEAR’S 2013 MESSAGE from the AVAK TIVAN

Krisdos Dznav yev Haydnetsav ; Tsezi yev Mezi Medz Avedis

Dear Brother Asbeds,

Christ is Born and Revealed! Now with Christmas approaching, while fully occupied in all the gift shopping, food preparation and celebrating, let us not forget the true meaning of Christmas. God gave us his Only Begotten Son so as a human being he could teach us how to be a good person. As Asbeds, we have taken an oath to live as true Christians and to live exemplary lives. We need to put aside personal feelings and to love one another as brothers & sisters. We need to remember that as a Brotherhood, we must work together to achieve our mutual goals.

Thus far, in my official Lodge visitations, I have been very encouraged by what I have seen and heard. The Knights of Vartan is ALIVE and WELL ! Our members are focused on achievement and attaining quality results. We must continue to develop worthwhile projects and fulfill them to conclusion in 2013 and beyond. We need to revive any semblance of dormancy within us and become warriors of Vartan, our Patron Saint! Remember…………your Avak Sbarabed and Avak Tivan is just a phone call or e-mail away. Suggestions or recommendations which may be beneficial to the KV or Avak Tivans of the future are always welcome.

On behalf of your Avak Tivan, I wish each and every one of you , your family and loved ones a very Merry Christmas and healthy, Happy New Year.

Shenorhavor Nor Dari yev Sourp Dzunoont

Fraternally,

Avak Sbarabed
