Dear Brothers and Sisters,

We are all shocked by the tragedy that has befallen the 120,000 Armenians of Artsakh who had to flee to Armenia for safety. Providing for those entering the country is now on the verge of creating another humanitarian crisis.

For this reason, the Knights and Daughters of Vartan Action Committee (KDVAC) concentrated all of its efforts on fundraising to support the immediate needs of refugees.

Since October of 2023, the Knights and Daughters of Vartan have subsidized 235 Artsakh families with over $108,978, disbursed to address their pressing needs, ranging from rent to appliances and household essentials. The organization also helped to transport 700 tons of humanitarian provisions which were delivered directly to the Armenians living in Artsakh earlier this year.

The Knights and Daughters of Vartan launched the Economic Sustainability Program in 2024 to create job growth and provide sustainable economic activity in local communities in Armenia. The essential need for refugee families is to help them return to work, rebuild their lives, and help them generate sufficient income to sustain their expenses and thrive in their homeland. This program is designed to empower families by providing the tools and resources they need for long-term self-sustainability. The Knights and Daughters of Vartan are committed to fostering economic resilience and self-sufficiency within the communities they serve.
