Building Homes for Low Income Families – Fuller Center for Housing Armenia
se Fuller Center for Housing Armenia (FCHA) is one of the proud national partners of the Knights of Vartan, a charitable brotherhood of Armenian gentlemen across the U.S., who are devoted to saving Armenian victims of Genocide, saving their families, their homes, their Armenian Church, Culture, and language.
Members and lodges of the Knights of Vartan have individually supported FCHA for many years. In 2015, then-Knights of Vartan Grand Commander Steven Kradjian challenged the Knights of Vartan national organization to adopt this worthy FCHA program to the elevated level of at least one complete family home per year to be supported 100% by the Knights of Vartan Lodges leadership who adopted that commitment with vigor. Families selected for the FCHA are intact working families who commit to living in the house and repay the cost over 20 years interest-free and inflation free.
In the years since, the FCHA became a national program for the Knights of Vartan, which helps to support the building (or renovating) of new homes for between 1 to 5 families each year.
The Fuller Center for Housing Armenia is a non-governmental charitable organization that supports community development in the Republic of Armenia by assisting in building and renovating simple, decent, and affordable homes as well as advocating the right to a decent shelter as a matter of conscience and action. It is a covenant partner of the Fuller Center for Housing, Inc. established in the spring of 2005.
The FCHA provides long-term, interest-free loans to low-income families. These families’ monthly repayments flow into a revolving fund and are used to help more families, thereby providing the financial foundation for a sustainable community development effort.
Completion of a half-built home: $12,000
Home renovation: $3,500
Since its inception up to now, the FCHA supported over 1407 families.
